EST or EDT, MST or MDT? Daylight saving explained
EST (UTC−5) is the winter name and EDT (UTC−4) the summer name. Most people write “EST” all year and mean whatever the clocks say in New York, so MeetETA reads EST as local Eastern time on the date you pick, and says so when that date is on EDT.
MST (UTC−7) is the winter name and MDT (UTC−6) the summer name. This page uses Denver time, which changes its clocks. Most of Arizona (Phoenix) stays on MST all year, so in summer Phoenix is an hour behind Denver.
Right now New York is on EDT, UTC−4 and Denver is on MDT, UTC−6 (the clocks at the top of the page always show the live values).
